I didn't expect this book to hit the way it did. I actually picked it up just looking for a good story. On the surface it's an adventure across oceans and planets, but underneath it really makes you think about responsibility, not just in life, but beyond it. The idea that we don't just get one shot, and that what we do now actually matters on a much bigger scale, stuck with me. The way water is treated as something sacred, not just a resource, feels especially relevant right now. There's a constant sense of threat in the story, but also a strong thread of people helping, supporting, and stepping up when it counts. It's one of those books that gives you a good story, but also leaves you thinking long after you've put it down.
