A note on style

Definition: Quotation Marks (“word”) — When quotation marks are placed around a word or phrase, the words enclosed can be construed as an expression of sarcasm or reverse meaning to the actual literal use of the words. Used to express the ridiculous but in fact truthful reality of a situation. E.g. when the word “treatment” is used in this enclosed manner, it is expressed that the act given was not treatment at all but in fact a complete oppression. A harmful act.

Chapter 1

Blue-3

Pictures flashed, accompanied by sharp jolts of pain. Life so far had been a complete dream and haven of safety. Surrounded by love and happiness, this fetus grew stronger and stronger by the day. The surrounding womb vibrated with love, music, peace and serenity.

The shocks came in waves with no warning at all. Then followed hours of restless unconsciousness, covered over by the submersion in the drugs being injected into the system of the highly distressed mother-to-be.

“This one is something else,” muttered the psychiatric nurse to his male shift counterpart. “If she wasn’t pregnant, I sure wouldn’t mind giving her some…”

“When did that ever stop you!” said the other nurse as he smiled and reached to fondle the breasts of the unconscious patient. The first nurse slid his hand up the inside and smooth skin of the patient’s leg, right up till he found what he was looking for.

Inside, the fetus could feel the vibrations of protest and rejection that flowed through what had been his warm and nurturing world before this storm of enturbulation had all begun.

John entered the hospital after returning from his six-week shift on the rigs. After a 24-hour fight, busting through the strong administration system that barred even the closest of relatives from being able to see the ones they love, he found his beautiful and intimate partner in a stuporous unconsciousness in what appeared to be an unattended and uncared-for unit of the so-called hospital that was supposed to help her. It stank of urine and fear, with the insane mutterings of other half-unconscious patients echoing through the corridors. This was the unit of involuntary incarceration.

John had been on the rigs in the middle of the North Sea when he was given the alarming news that Nora had been admitted to hospital due to a critical emergency, described to him as being a “Severe Mental Breakdown.”

This was not the Nora that he knew. An incredibly beautiful woman, fiercely independent and strong-minded, and a partnership that was as close as two peas in a pod, building a future together.

What later came out was that after questioning the extreme bad manners of a warden nurse giving a “Compulsory Mental Health Check” for all pregnant women taking their regular check-ups, Nora suddenly found herself strapped to a stretcher by three brutally strong males and screaming for help. Another “Crazy Woman” wheeled off through the corridor into the Mental Health Unit of the hospital to be sedated.

Nora’s interview with the resident psych didn’t go much better. Now in a drugged state due to the enforced injection, the brief assessment for urgent treatment was shortly followed by Nora being wheeled into the ECT Unit to begin the first series of Electroshock “Treatment” Sessions.

John, despite the deeply withheld urge to smash and murder each and every mental health worker in the unit, knew better and spoke in a very concerned and definite manner to the resident nurse and psych. He had already taken the precautionary steps of contacting his lawyer before entering the ward and held specific instructions backed by a lodgement number to the Health Administration Ombudsman that would prevent him from also being detained. His gentle presentation of the Ombudsman Lodgement Number and his Lawyer contact details gained him the adequate attention he required.

Before the evening had ended, John had managed to have his Nora transferred to a private institution where she would now have the chance to recuperate from the shock “treatment” and be slowly assisted in clearing the paralysing drugs from her system.

Nora woke, staring at John now asleep on the bedside chair. She felt that she had woken from a car accident and really had no recall of where she was or how she had gotten there. She just stared at him, admiring him as she always had. But each time she closed her eyes, nightmarish images of pain and shock flashed in front of her like a horror movie screen right under her eyelids. She trembled and was unable to hold back the emotion for a moment longer as tears now streamed down her face.

John woke to find the mother of his child lying on her side weeping, and it looked as though she had been in this state for God knows how long. He instantly slid the chair up to the side of the bed and leaned his head close into his loved one as he always would do when it was time to say goodbye or when words just were not enough to express the feeling.

“What have they done to me?” Nora moaned and again burst into tears. Violated, shocked and abused as she was and had been, it had in fact been eight days of this incarceration. An exceptional and strongly sane woman, she was able to push through the evil intent the practitioner had planted well below her consciousness. “You will be fine. You won’t remember a thing” being the evil patter of the past days.

“They tried to destroy me. That fucking psych at the hospital tried to destroy me and my baby.”

“Oh Fuck!” she wailed as John held her.

Nora continued to sob and sob for hours and days to come. She would never be the same. The damage done was permanent and John knew that a large part of his amazing woman was no longer there.

“It’s okay, baby. I’m taking you to the lake house. They’ll never touch you again. I promise!”

Chapter 2

The Surf is Smashing

The surf was absolutely insane and I was just waiting for Dad to drive off before I changed out of this ridiculous school uniform and into my wetsuit.

Good! He’s out of here. Jimmy stuck his head through the window. “Come on, Shaney Boy. Six-foot barrels up the north end. Time to get some real life lessons.”

It was just a totally reckless day. Smashing wave after wave and laughing at Jimmy’s insane expressions as he popped barrels all day long.

“How’s school treating you, Shane?” Jimmy asked as we sat between sets.

“It’s just out of control, Jimmy. You should see the line-up of zombies that they have now. Twice a day, all popping their little cupful of psych drugs and then off they all go for the rest of the day in some sort of a tranced-out robotic state.

“Easy for the teachers to control, but man! You remember Jenna and Shaye and Johnnie. They are totally gone now. Why have they set up this system that is so blatantly destroying lives?”

“That’s simple, Shane,” Jimmy responded. “Just follow the money, mate. It has nothing to do with making anyone ‘better’. It is just for the money.

“It runs all the way up from the school getting extra funding for each kid they have popping their pills, and every single parasite up the line to Big Pharma. Why are they pushing degrees in Psych so heavily now on the radio and career promo? They are building a fricken army.”

“You’re right, Jimmy. They have gone for me a few times. But Dad is just too strong. He said the day they try to force me on them is the day we leave town. I’ve only got a year left anyway. I’m gonna smash Uni and just keep driving Mr Crappy Lord through the roof. Got a few other cool ideas as well.”

“Why wouldn’t you?” said Jimmy. “You’ve got like 28 million YouTube subscribers now. How much are you making a month, dude?”

“Heaps, Jimmy. But we are just farming it into the trust at the moment. Getting ready for the big setup that we are going for. So easy to spend and blow it all, and you never know if you are suddenly going to get your account suspended or something, right?”

“They won’t suspend your account, bro. There will be a riot, mate. Mr Crappy Lord is the legend of the new millennium. You’re it. No one’s ever gonna take you down.”

“Whoa! Jimmy — out the back.”

Jimmy didn’t even look, he just paddled hard and we both jostled for pole position.

“Bring it on, Water Boy!” cried Jimmy as he dropped in deep to a monster barrel. Right behind it was an even fatter one and I paddled as hard as I could to get the deepest take-off possible.

Tracking right along the line behind Jimmy, I could sense him racing out cleanly in front of me. Through the barrel I was catching glimpses of spray smashing off the back of the wave as Jimmy now worked the wall of his wave.

There it is! Jimmy pushed clean out off the top of the wave and drifted a good eight to ten metres before he slipped back into the top of the closing-out cylinder.

As I took my turn, I just about landed right on top of him while he screamed and hollered away at the top of his voice.

“This is freedom, Shane. These waves have been pumping through here for God knows how many centuries, fricken millennia, mate. You know, there is not a soul on the beach and here we are surfing on the energy waves of the physical universe. Talk about freedom of expression.”

“You’re right, Jimmy! This is freedom and it is our right to play. I think that a law needs to be passed. When the surf is on, then it is books down. I mean, how else are we going to produce the best surfers on the planet if we are stuck in school all day trying not to fall asleep while Mrs Hoy Bag rambles on at the whiteboard.”

“Hallelujah, Shane!” cried Jimmy. “We can name it ‘Lord of Water Day!’”

“Oh yeah! Lord of Water Day. But we can’t have it just one day of the year like the Queen’s fricken birthday or something. It’s gotta be a law.

“By the powers vested in me, may all and any teachers that try to stop any free spirit from surfing when the NE Swell is hammering down, be cast down with Bolts of Lightning. May the Lord of Water say it be so.”

Ha ha ha ha ha!

“You should be fricken president, Shane. Prime Minister at least.”

“Nah! I think I’ve got a bigger game.”

A big fat set came rolling in and I paddled hard to take the fattest one. Jimmy took a break and just sat to the side and screamed me in deeper on the biggest one. I could never get enough of this. Turning into barrels like this is total satisfaction and the greatest hunger for more, all at the same time.

A hunger I have no intention of ever satisfying.

I paddled back out beside Jimmy and he was still giggling from deep in his belly.

“Man! How do you do that?” Jimmy asked.

“Do what, Jimmy?”

“You know — you always drop so deep and impossible and then the water just opens up around you. It’s like you are controlling it with your hands or thoughts or something.”

“I don’t know, Jimmy. I thought everyone does that. Don’t you?”

“You look like a fricken wizard of water or something. I was lying in bed thinking about it the other night—“

Jimmy was so engrossed in what I was about to say that he totally missed the timing of the sets rolling in behind him. I just laughed and screamed, “Best one’s mine, Boofhead! Again!”

We went on like this all day. I even forgot all about Dad and rocked up home after he was already in from a day’s work. He just looked at me and smiled with that little cheeky nod of the head that he does when he knows it’s not time to be a ‘Dad’.

“Come on, Dad. It’s going off today. Grab your board. We haven’t been for a paddle together for heaps.”

Dad made me a sandwich and drink and then walked out to get his board.

“You’re the best, Dad!”

We spent the afternoon dropping in on each other, jumping on each other’s boards and generally trying to drown each other. This guy was my mentor and guide in life. He never ever lost his temper with me but I also knew that he was never to be crossed. I just wouldn’t dare.

The time he spent with me, tutoring me through my grades and keeping me at the top of the state, was the only protection that I had against a system going so out of control. Dad had big buddies in the right places. But he also made sure that I applied my study skills and kept at the front of the exam standard no matter what.

My grades were my protection and I am sure, even though the psychs would love to get their hands on me and drug the talent right out of me, while Dad was walking this planet, it was never going to happen.

Chapter 3

Dad

I knew that Dad didn’t want to talk about it and I think that this was the only real barrier between us. I mean I could tell this guy anything. But talking about Mum was just too hard on him. So as the years went by, I just let it go.

I could see him thinking of her sometimes. The pictures that surrounded him were like a 3D movie. Usually all it took was to place my forehead on his and say “I see you!”

He’d smile and hug me or wrestle me or something. It was like a sort of example he wanted to set for me. His eyes would get pretty glassy sometimes, but he never cried.

I’d asked so many questions about Mum when I was younger that I felt like I knew her as closely and personally as any son could. Dad described her character to me so well and from the photos and videos I just felt so good that she was my mum. I felt that she was like a spiritual guide for me. Any doubts or uncertainties that I had in life, I would just think of her and she would be there. It was like some type of spiritual telepathy was going on between us and I never doubted the decisions that I would make under her guidance.

He told me so much about her, but there was a big missing time frame from when I was born up to when she left her body and although I sort of had a knowingness about this, I so much wanted to fill this void in my life.

Dad said that when the time came he would tell me everything that happened. “I promise you, my son,” he told me. But as the years went on, I still wondered if that time would ever really come.

We’d been working through some pretty heavy study with Physics, Chemistry and 4 Unit Maths being the path I had chosen for my studies. Although 2 Unit Music was a lot of fun and just about the best thing going during the school week, I had chosen to follow a Civil Engineering path with the idea of taking on a Degree in Law to back it up.

I knew that with Engineering and Law I would be able to give myself the most certainty in a career grounded in actual reality and the protection of a Law degree to keep the parasites away.

The career advisers had been pushing this Psychiatric and Psychologist career path for so many years now. But all I see is the zombie crowd getting bigger and bigger each year, one after another, bright souls being trapped. It seemed to me that we were fighting the biggest war to date. From my observation, we have World War III right here at our doorstep. Only it is a holy war. And a war of magnitude it has become.

I couldn’t help but keep thinking of a planet that has water resources for all. They have been spreading the propaganda that we have an overpopulated planet and the reason for war and famine is simply because there is not enough room.

But every time I looked at the planet from the window of the plane on so many flights with Dad, all that I could see was land, land and more empty land.

So much land, but “not enough room!” It just seemed like such a lie and all that has consumed me to this day is how to unravel it. There is water in abundance and land more than 50 billion wouldn’t even put a dint in. For me the question seemed simple. “How do we get the water to flow?”

Chapter 4

Expansion

I had been studying so many career paths over the past couple of years. My conclusion is that there are definitely two groups on this planet. Those who are creating a future and those who are blatantly trying to destroy this place.

It has been going on for centuries, but with the technology now at hand it has become a race to see which side makes it. I figure that this is how it is at this stage of the game. We have an amazing resource of talent across the globe.

Environmental solutions, solar energy, electronic and computer technology so close to being that of a Sci-Fi novel.

But team two definitely got a jump start on the game and all of the universities, governments, banks and multinationals are totally set up and controlled by these guys. The underlying proof of my conclusion is the fact that war and genocide are still the most profitable industry on the planet, overtly culling back the population, while their team of vampires, like a hidden army, drugs and controls from the inside.

The two most profitable industries on the planet. So how do you build a career and not wind up working for this social infrastructure that was set in place so long ago? That is the trick.

I know two things with certainty. There is land and water aplenty for at least 50 billion on this planet if we plan the expansion of the population with clever organisation. And that there can only be expansion, so the falsehood of culling the population is never going to happen — and what greater violation of human rights could there be?

But taking down the superpowers and shifting financial and governing control into the hands of the social beings — there is no choice about getting this done. It has to be BIG and it has to be a peaceful and smooth takeover in which everybody wins. Even ultimately the bad guys. For execution is no solution — with a new life just around the corner, they are born right back into our population and the problem continues.

But in summary, a shift in wealth and a shift in leadership. This is not an overnight mission.

This is the big one and I know that there is a solution. I know that this isn’t the reason I arrived on this planet, but without a stable government and international peace, there will never be freedom for all and the water will never be allowed to flow.

Until I really get the grasp of how I am going to tackle this, I’ll just keep building up my followers and email list and taking on the globe with Mr Crappy Lord. It’s heaps of fun anyway.

I just love it when he makes the verdict. Ten million kids in the US now on psychiatric medication. Our future leaders drugged and destroyed en masse.

Then Crappy gives his “THAT’S CRAP!”

Chapter 5

Playing With Water

I just love living at the ocean and being surrounded by water every moment of my life. From the moment I open my eyes, I feel a connection and I am at home. The sound of the waves tells me exactly what is happening and I know I am right at the pulse rate of planet Earth.

There are those days when you can’t hear a single thing at all. It is like the ocean is completely in silent mode. But when you step onto the dune top, there it is. Six to eight foot swells just peeling off left and right. Clean crystal cylinders. Quiet as a mouse!

Then there are other days when all you can hear is the noise of waves crashing on the beach. And it still fools me every time. Just can’t help being optimistic when you hear the ocean. But step over to the dune top and there it is. Onshore crud.

Today was one of those days. I was sitting at the table taking my time with breakfast and doing my normal thing playing with a little water on the table. This is my secret game. I don’t call it magic, I call it my friend and soul mate. I love drawing faces with just enough water on the end of my finger. I draw faces of people I know and the water starts to take form. The lips and cheeks come alive and on a good day, the eyes even come into shape with a hint of colour and the look of real life in the person’s eyes.

I was doodling and thinking about Mum. From the photos and what Dad has told me, I would doodle and the water would simply read my mind. I thought earlier in life that it was my ability to do this, and I am sure that this is true. But what became more and more real to me was the life that was animated in the water — and the ability the water itself had to read my mind.

I was just playing and swirling her hair and cheeks and curve on the side of her face. I stepped into another universe of communication and although I was in the room, I was in this universe with my Mum and it was one of the most real moments of my life.

Her face fully came to life and with not a single word spoken, her telepathic communication told me clearer than if she were sitting at the table with me. “I am here Shane. I am real and I am closer to you than you may even know. We are all born again into this world and I am no exception. That is true for the able ones like you and me, and the millions of beautiful souls that are walking this earth today.”

“We are in the middle of a holy war. A war of a magnitude never fought before. We see it all around us in the safety of our homes. It seems like it is happening ‘over there’, but it’s not. It is right at our doorstep. You are not paranoid with what you conclude. This is a holy war and this planet is losing it from the top to the bottom.”

“You will recognise me shortly and then we will not need to communicate like this any more. I am at your side and you will know who I am without a word ever having to be spoken about it.”

“I love you Shane and know that you are worthy of what has to be done and your part in saving this precious water planet that is so worth being saved. I am so proud of you and know what you have again truly become. I now stand to fight this battle beside you.”

Her face took form in the most animated and full dimension that I have ever held with water. Her cheeks swelled and her lips curled as she gave the warmest and loving smile I had ever received in all of my lifetimes past.

The water turned flat on the table and I found myself just doodling in shapes with my breakfast bowl still only half gone.

I wrapped up breakfast and as I was leaving for what was just another day at school, I felt an incredible surge of purpose and life force fill my entire body. Bigger than my body. I felt that I was reaching far out into the ocean, to the cliff tops and sandy beaches along the coastlines and into the water inlets that curved deep inland, being continuously replenished by the rainfall and the water tables of the land.

Dad was loading the truck as I walked out the front and he looked completely different. I felt as though he was about to just float off the ground and whatever it was that I knew had been sitting on his shoulders for as long as I had been with him was gone.

He closed the back door of the truck and turned to give me a hug.

“I love you!” he said so freely and as he smiled a perfect tear rose up and fell from the corner of his eye.

For me, this was the first time that I had really seen my dad as himself. No screens, no father-son barriers, just him. What a beautiful guy.

“I love you too, Dad!”

And I turned to head off to school, knowing that my life, and in fact this planet, was never going to be the same again.

Chapter 6

Planetary Summary

I hadn’t been wrong. I’d had the perfect upbringing by the ocean, with a father strong and proud, but I was never blind to what lay behind the lie and veil of the media on beautiful Blue-3.

School came easy to me, and so did sport. But surfing — surfing was everything. I was obsessed with what the ocean was doing 24/7. Nothing seemed more important to me than what she was up to at any hour of the day. But I could not ignore what had surrounded me since the day I was born.

A planet filled with war and famine. A globe financially controlled and manipulated to the extent of driving whole populations into refugee parades and others into genocidal camps for eradication.

It was all over the newspapers and social media, day in, day out. But the hidden enemy within was right here, knocking at the door. Dad told me that children used to line up each day for bottles of milk provided by the state. Pretty cool — a student can’t study without at least some nutrition in his body. But here today there are hundreds of thousands of kids lined up to take their medication.

The product? The walking dead all around us. It is not an infection, but a diagnosis. And with anything from talking to your buddy in class — “Compulsive Disruptive Disorder” — to spending too much time on your smartphone — “Illusional Electronic Device Disorder” — they had it fully covered. All the while, doctors and psychiatrists lining their pockets with a residual income to build their wealth.

Any diagnosis, followed by a very profitable and renewable prescription, generally had a 100% resign rate. Unless the parents tried to intervene. Then the State would step in and simply get the dosage enforced — the child very often taken away from Mum and Dad for “medically abusing” them.

The underlying purpose of it all was not yet clear to me. Trying to see why these global powers wanted to create generations of zombies just didn’t make sense — even for the most insane of men.

“What is their plan?” I asked myself over and over.

I found, through some pretty thorough investigation and plenty of time spent going over it with Dad, that you could always follow the money. The Federal Budget alone could open a hundred arguments about why the government was spending as it was — but the numbers never lied.

$13 billion on Mental Health to solve the national epidemic of these trumped-up diseases. Big Pharma laughing all the way to the bank, with a whole drug distribution line opened up through every single doctor’s practice, and school nurses given the power to recommend diagnosis and a life sentence of soul-destroying, very profitable drugs.

A few campus donations here and there, and the taxpayer now paying for the largest marketing campaign this planet has ever seen. Full infiltration into the educational system and our universities, all “donated” by Big Pharma to help “solve this tragic dilemma.”

“So who is behind Big Pharma?” I asked Dad. And this is where the real journey began.

“The same guys that are behind global genocide, arms dealing, civil war, financial crashes, terrorism and global debt. More deaths of soldiers by suicide, caused by psychotropic drugs prescribed by the camp psych, than deaths in actual combat itself. These are the guys, Shane, and they are playing this planet like a dirty chess board.”

Their ultimate goal — a prison state where they can do whatever they want.

The opponent seemed far too immense. Far too much for a surfer boy like me to ever think of taking on in this or a thousand lifetimes to come. But I knew that unless this planet was put under control, this was where it was heading — and the simple freedom of going for a surf and playing with the ocean waves would be something every man, woman and child on the planet could be deprived of. Let alone a drink of water.

They used to say, “You control the oil, you control the masses!” But I knew very well — control the water, and you control the globe.

This is my planet. I knew it with certainty. Water was my friend, and I knew I would solve this global confusion before this lifetime was done. I wasn’t completely sure how or why. It just was — as though I had done it a thousand times before.

I can always depend on Dad for a straight answer.

Chapter 7

Go Pro!

Me and Jimmy set up the GoPro cameras on the front of our surfboards and had been cracking some serious footage all day.

I was paddling out after catching one of the nice inbetweenies, and Jimmy was just setting himself up deep in a huge left-hand barrel.

I knew Jimmy’s camera was set to record, and I set mine to rapid time-lapse to grab the full sequence. Jimmy took a long, slow bottom turn and then relaxed into a lovely slow stall as the whole weight of the wave dropped over his head. It opened up fully as Jimmy sat there, charging right through the middle of a classic North End barrel.

I paddled as deep as I could, straight into him, and then took a duck dive at the very last split second, the camera sinking into the pristine water as the fins on Jimmy’s board sliced just overhead.

I knew this would be a classic. Put both timelines together — the video, then carefully placed time-lapse shots of Jimmy sitting right in the middle of a perfect water barrel. I think this is gonna be a nice one to put up on the channel.

“That was sweet!” I said to Jimmy as he paddled back out and pulled up beside me.

“Yeah, mate!” said Jimmy. “We’ve got some awesome footage today. We’re gonna spend a few hours at the computer tonight, bro.”

Me and Jimmy, as usual, pushed on until we could hardly see a thing, with the phosphorescence starting to sparkle in the water and the sun long gone. The top of the sand was starting to chill as we walked back up to our gear, the sand underneath still warm from an awesome summer’s day.

Behind us the waves continued to pour into the coast, the white outline showing perfection peeling left and right across the beach.

“Hey, I think I caught it on camera, Shane,” Jimmy said as we dried off and packed up our gear.

“Caught what, Jimmy?” I answered.

“I caught how you open up the water, mate. I’m sure I’m not seeing things, buddy. But let’s see if the camera got it when we get back to the laptop.”

“Maybe I am seeing things!” Jimmy snickered.

We both laughed and talked on and on, replaying the serious freestyle session we’d just finished on yet another perfect North End day.

Chapter 8

The Edit

The following day was a complete editing fest. Jimmy was adamant that the barrel opened up under my influence. “You are like the Master of Water, bro!”

I could see it and knew that I can do this. But I just kept giving Jimmy the “Come on, buddy. It’s just what the wave does. We surf, mate. This is what we do, yeh!”

We compiled and cut back, slow-mo’d and blended sequence shots so it all flowed together. Jimmy trimmed out any frame that caught my face. “No faces, same as always. Crappy stays behind the curtain.” Then we both looked up at each other in a simultaneous realisation. “This is what it’s all about mate. We are taking pure crazy fun and compiling it not only for ourselves, but for everyone else to enjoy and to be inspired by.”

There is nothing that comes close to having crazy fun in the surf like that.

“Just playing on the free energy of the universe, mate,” said Jimmy.

“I know right. This is as close as it gets to being dolphins playing around all day. But even better, we get to put it all together and see how it looks in replay.”

“Yeh!” cried Jimmy and we both just laughed even harder.

“This is where the gold is, mate. Taking on the action, then getting together afterwards and talking about how good it all was. I think that it is better than the real thing. The surf is totally the best. But getting together and talking it up, even years later, is way more fun. We can just turn up the volume and make it ten times better than it really was, right? And the video and photos seem to make it just as good. Little bit of slow-mo and cool music.”

“Imagine when we’re old fellas, mate. We are gonna be so old that we are riding old mals or something,” said Jimmy.

“Then we are gonna get out the old videos and check out how good we were.”

Jimmy snickered, “But what are we gonna call this one, mate? Mr Crappy Lord Takes On the North End?”

“Why not. I like it. Mr Crappy Lord. North End Barrels. Having the crappiest time of our lives.”

I grinned at him. “This is how we get the attention. People love good content. Great adventure. Heaps of crazy action. Then we are able to get our message in. I reckon a ratio of about 3:1. Awesome crazy fun and adventure. Then slip in just enough truth to get the effect we’re going for.”

“We’re best mates forever, Jimmy. No matter what, we look out for each other, buddy. No one can steal that away from us.”

Chapter 9

Simal

It was the normal Monday and I still just can’t get used to seeing the line-up of zombies going in to take and verify their medication doses to start the day. Another half hour and the drugs kick in, then they all drift into their glass-eyed dazes for the day until the afternoon dose falls due.

“You see it too, don’t you?” A friendly voice spoke behind me.

“Yes, I can,” I replied.

“It’s just disgusting.”

“My name is Shane. What’s yours?”

This sweet dark skinned girl answered with a warm smile and a cheeky look in her eye. “Simal. Pleased to meet you Shane.”

“I can’t believe that everyone is so totally blind to this. We are brought up and educated on how bad drugs are, but here is this very same school system, lining up these kids and pumping drugs right into their poor lost souls every day of the week.”

“They are all totally addicted.”

Simal smiled even wider and I felt that for the first time, other than my best mate Jimmy, someone else in this school can see the truth of what is happening here.

“You’re Mr Crappy Lord, aren’t you, Shane?”

I just stood there. Nobody knew that. Nobody. Not a teacher, not a parent, not one of those millions of subscribers. “How could you possibly—“

She gave the smallest shrug, still smiling. “I just knew.”

“Yep! That’s me. Crappy!”

Simal stood completely comfortable, smiling and looking me right in the eye.

“You have got millions of subscribers that hang on every word you utter across the globe. Do you have any idea how much voice you have?”

“I do. And I am just trying to see how it is possible for me to somehow get this message across. Without getting shut down or locked up in a loony bin by the Gestapo mob crew.”

Simal nodded and continued to smile right at me.

“I can help you. You can do something about this, but you want to ensure that you set it up for the biggest impact possible.”

“You get right to the point, don’t you!” I replied — but I wasn’t in the least bit invaded by this lovely girl who seemed to know as much about my secret ideas as I did.

“When I see someone like you that does not buy this bullshit that they have sold to the parents of our precious country, there is no need to take things slowly at all.”

“Are you in?” she asked further.

“Yeh! I am in,” I replied.

“Great! Then we can meet up and I will show you what you can do about it.”

“I will catch you later then.”

“You certainly will,” I replied.

Simal smiled right at me a little while longer and I just stood there smiling like a reflection of her — the closest feeling to another being I have ever felt.

She nodded and then turned and walked away, obviously heading off for her first class. Just as she reached the corner of the corridor, she glanced back and smiled directly at me.

I had not moved.

The rest of the day left me floating. I felt so light and alive and like this was a new day for the rest of my life. On the way home I asked Jimmy if he had seen the new girl yet.

“You mean the little cute one with the honey brown skin?” he replied. “Of course mate. Who hasn’t?”

“I know!” I answered. “Where did she come from anyway?”

“Looks like you are keen on her like the rest of the school that isn’t yet on medication.”

“I don’t know Jimmy. It’s not like that. She is just something mate and I think she is going to change our lives.”

“Looks like she already has, mate. Your eyes are looking a little sparkly there buddy. I think we better run fast and get our butts into the surf for an after-schoolie surf, mate. Need to wash your brains out a little with some fresh sea water by the looks of it.”

I knew what Jimmy was talking about, but it actually wasn’t like that. I made a spiritual connection with an amazing being today. And yes, she is cute as hell.

But it’s not like that. I swear!

Chapter 10

Water

I woke early in the morning and the rain was falling heavy on the rooftop. This is the best feeling there is before a day begins. I can’t explain it, but when it is raining, really really heavy, I just feel great.

I slept in this morning and opted not to hit some early waves. Looking through the sunroom windows, sipping a nice cup of tea with some warm wheaties, I watched the rain-covered swells roll in along the coast. Only a few keen surfers picking off corners of waves here and there.

“You’re looking pretty chilled this morning, Shane. Looks like you’ve got something cooking!” said Dad as he stepped towards the window looking out to the ocean swells.

“Kinda! There’s a new girl at school, Dad. I want to bring her around to meet you.”

“New girl. What’s she like?” Dad asked.

“I’m not sure where she’s from yet. She has got this really cool dark skin, pretty cute, but there is something special about her. I’ve got a feeling that I am gonna be doing some work with her.”

“Hmm! She sounds nice, mate. Gotta go. Let me know and I’ll make sure that there’s some decent food in the house.”

“No worries, Dad. Have a great day.”

“You too, buddy. Love you, mate.”

“You too, Dad.”

Dad’s always been my best mate and when I am thinking and just need a person to talk to, he listens and I can say totally anything at all. He doesn’t even hardly say a word. But just talking to him, I can figure things out.

I logged in to Crappy just to check any comments that may be worth a plug. Wow! An extra thirty thousand subscribers overnight. What’s been happening?

Searching down the traffic, I found more and more happening on the “Aussies are So Dumb” animation — “Invasion of the School Yard.”

Man, this is a hot one…

Chapter 11

Heavy Dudes!

“Nice!”

“Fricken badass waves down the Northy. Did you see that?” Jimmy called, looking down towards the northern end of the beach as we both carried our boards under our arms in an eager trot.

Jimmy is just the best guy to be with when heading in for a surf. He gets me so hyped that I just about step out of my body in exhilaration and anticipation of the insane waves that we are about to head into.

“Man! Did you see that?” Jimmy called as some guy smashed the living daylights off the top of a huge left hand peak.

“Yeah! Mate, there’re a few guys down there. Looks like a little hustling today,” I uttered back.

“Let’s get out there!” Jimmy called and started running for the shoreline, spearing out into the water, skimming about twelve metres out off the shore before he slowed up to paddle speed.

“Nice entry!” I thought to myself just as he slipped into the rip and started charging towards the outside break.

When I caught up, I paddled out to find Jimmy sitting uncomfortably, squeezed out by three pretty heavy looking dudes.

“Oh great. Here comes his f… face friend.” None of them spoke loud enough to be heard and the whole crew gave a pretty intense stare right into me.

“Man! Can you feel that vibration, Jimmy? Some pretty heavy protest coming out of that crew mate.”

Jimmy just looked at me and I could see that his adrenaline was hitting about ten plus on the Richter scale.

“Let’s surf mate,” I said as I paddled past Jimmy and sat in close enough to let them take their turn, but then step in right as they paddled into their first waves.

Jimmy paddled in beside me and I tilted just enough to let him come inside me for first turn. He had that look in his eye that I knew so well and was very experienced with when it came to hustling waves.

The water out the back darkened as the first sets started rolling in. About four to five nice lines with a couple of fat ones right in the middle.

The first dude paddled in deep and took off in the perfect spot to drop into the middle of the face and take a big bottom turn then carving off the top with a huge spray bursting up in the air.

Second dude the same, but the guy who looked like the leader chose the biggest of the set and nobody even hinted at trying to drop in.

Me and Jimmy just sat there and let the set pass. Then comfortably paddled into the spot just over the impact zone. They came paddling straight back to the spot and pushed right inside of us.

The main dude paddled in behind and then squeezed right into the middle of them, with me and Jimmy now on the outside. Totally stole our spots.

I looked right at him until he lifted his head and looked back at me. I comfortably said, “We don’t do that here, bro! At the Northy everyone takes their turn, no matter who they are.”

“Is that right?” he said and they all started laughing.

Me and Jimmy just sat cool and waited for the next set to start rolling in. The water grew dark out the back again and a nice thick set of waves started to lurk just out of sight.

“Looks like it’s not your day, boys!” he called out and started to paddle and adjust into position for a deep take off.

“I’ve got this one Jimmy!” I said and paddled right in close behind him. I could sense Jimmy not far behind and the other two dudes scrambled and split off as they hustled for the first waves.

There was one big set right in the middle and this was my wave. The main dude obviously thought that it was his.

I just pressed right in behind him and knew exactly where I needed to be to get the best take off.

Jimmy slid in real quick and snatched the one just before it. The two dudes tried to drop in on him but Jimmy was on his feet, flipping the first dude’s board in front of him — ever so gently lifting him up into the full lip of the barrel. The face sucked him right up and over the top of Jimmy’s head as Jimmy landed, ever so gently, in the middle of the barrel.

The second dude tried to collapse the barrel down on him, but Jimmy just skipped and floated over the foam ball and then back doored into the barrel again as it dropped cleanly over his head.

From behind I could see that so well known line of Jimmy’s fins slicing through the middle of the tube ride. I couldn’t help but hoot just enough to put the head dude in front of me on edge.

We both paddled straight into the middle of the peak and the dude turned and started to paddle in. I just gave a smug little smile and the water somehow boiled in under him, rumbling his board sideways.

I slipped right into the spot I was looking for and could sense him cursing as the lip pulled him up and over the falls, hard and heavy into the sand bank. I don’t think he has taken a wipeout like that for a long time from the way I saw him smashing those first waves we saw him on.

I eased into the most familiar pose and just chilled as the water of the barrel hugged all around me. This is home. This is when I am happy.

I could sense a few bodies scrambling to dive under the impact of the wave as it drew out in front of me. It didn’t make any difference. This is the closest I can possibly get to being me on this crazy planet. Doesn’t matter what else is going on around me.

The full chamber of the barrel pressured up and blew out all around me as I was engulfed in the famous Northy Spit, ejecting me out and onto the clean face for even more carving pleasure.

Jimmy turned off just in front of me and was already laughing his head off as I turned closer and closer to meet up as I skipped off the top of the closing out wave.

“That was f… awesome mate. No idea what’s gonna happen now. I think that we may have worn out our welcome,” he chuckled. “But hey, this is our break!”

“That’s for sure, Jimmy. Stay close, alright.”

I paddled back to the side just completely comfortable to take our turn now that we have had our waves.

The dudes were spraying the F word all over the place. The main dude looking right at me with evil intentions and pounding his fist into his palm clearly showed what he wanted to do to me.

I paddled in close enough — this was gonna get out of control. We were either going to solve it now or this surfing session was going to turn into a battlefield.

“You’re dead dude. You are so completely dead. Do you hear me?”

The main dude fully revved up and I could feel the vibration of hatred humming like a beehive through the air.

“I tell you what,” I spoke as calmly as I could. “We have two choices. We either go into the beach and sort it out now between us both or we just surf. What’s it going to be?”

With his two super heavy dudes packed in beside him, I knew the answer would be pretty inevitable. The main dude looked right at me and said, “Right now!” and paddled into a smaller wave to head to the shore. His two dudes followed him in.

“Ok Jimmy!” I said as I started paddling in as well. “Come along just to keep an eye on my back.”

I landed up on the beach just a bit away from this super revved up and angry dude ready to smash the living daylights out of me, that was for sure. I ducked up the beach just enough to set my board in the sand and hopefully keep an eye on it.

I wedged the board into the sand, fins up and turned to walk into the confrontation that I was not going to avoid in any way. The main dude standing half stanced up like Bruce Lee and gave me the “Come on Mother F…!”

About twelve metres in and Jimmy gave me the call, “On your left Shane!”

One of his thugs decided to make a hero out of himself and come at me from the side. “Real Brave!”

Taking the biggest and dumbest swing at my head, I just dropped my knees, sunk a single extended pointer knuckle right in between his bottom two ribs. I kept the structure up through my arm as straight as possible and drove the point of the knuckle straight in between this soft spot.

He let out a wail and deflated into a pitiful moan as he fell to the sand and lay completely useless like a washed up jellyfish. I turned to the main dude again and with his attention half on me and half on this dumb thug laying on the sand, he was way too proud to back down.

I looked right at him now only several metres away and asked him clearly, “Where are you now?”

He looked startled for a second and then again I asked him “Where are you now?”

This very heavy dude stopped dead in his tracks and looked like he had rolled right back into his mind.

I asked him again, “Where are you now?”

He couldn’t help it and tears started to roll down his face.

“What the f… are you trying to do to me man?” he said as he was barely able to hold the shake in his voice steady.

“I just really would like to know,” I told him and then asked again. “Where are you now?”

That was it. He lost it and sat down on the sand and then started to sob heavily.

The other heavy dude looked completely puzzled and started to step in close, but looking very uncertain indeed.

I held up my palm in front of him and he completely duplicated my intention to stay back.

I walked up even closer and told him “I am just going to sit down beside you right here. It’s ok alright! You take your time. You talk when you’re ready.”

Jimmy was now with the other heavy dude and was shaking hands with him. He had him under control and I knew that he would keep him away until we were ready.

The two of them went over to help that poor thug, still screwing up his face with the pain in his ribs. He would not be surfing for a few days that’s for sure.

The main dude calmed down and looked around, seeming to orient himself as to where he actually was.

“What happened?” I asked him. And he still sat silent for a few more minutes, calming more and more as the brief time passed.

“Man! I’m really sorry, bro. I have got no idea what got into me. This is one of the most stupid situations that I have ever found myself involved in. But I think that we have just been walking all over people wherever we go. What are we doing?”

“Hey! It’s ok man. I can see that you’ve got a good heart mate. And you can surf dude. We could see you from way up the track.”

I tried to keep it as friendly as possible.

“I’m Travy, mate. What’s your name?” he said as he reached out with his arm to shake hands.

“Shane, Travy. And my mate over there is Jimmy.”

“Just give me a minute more, Shane. I just have to gather myself before I pick myself up and face the boys.”

“They’re gonna be fine, Travy. But take your time.” Travy stood up and just started to chuckle and then laugh louder and louder in warm and friendly hysterics.

“Mate. I feel like I just woke up for the first time in my life. What the f… did you do to me?”

“I don’t know, Travy. It just seemed like the obvious thing to ask you.”

“Yep! It was spot on. I have no idea where I have been all my life. What have I been doing?”

“Like I said, Travy, good to meet you. Can we get back in the surf now?”

We shook hands again and then I met the lads. We all spent a crazy day smashing the living daylights out of the Northy, wave after wave after wave.

Jimmy set up some GoPros and some amazing footage was taken for all.

This was a good day and some great new friends.

Even the bro with the busted rib had a smile on his face. I am pretty sure that he got some great shots with the big zoom lens Jimmy set him up with.

“That was cool!” was all that Jimmy had to say to me at the end of the day as he turned to head down the lane back to his place with his board under his arms and camera pack in the other.

He turned around and asked, “What did you say to him, mate? That was mad!”

“I saw a *Volunteer Minister at the bush fires helping out a firefighter. He was giving him an assist and I heard him asking the same question. It was so cool. The Firee just calmed right down and was back into it a few minutes later fighting the fire.

“Not even sure if I got it right. But it seemed to work pretty good hey!”

“It was Awesome!” said Jimmy. “Tell me more about it tomorrow. I’m smashed and going to bed. That was a mad day.”
